@fred: Having seen Mdou Moctar a few weeks back I concur with your view that he's gone all 'Sahara Rock'. Got to say I was a little disappointed for that. The support Imarhan were excellent, though. I haven't seen the movie yet.

IMO, Michael Brown's underappreciated group is Stories, whose ABOUT US (second and final LP with Brown) is a power pop beauty along the lines of Big Star or Raspberries but proggier (lots of keyboards).
