For a moment there, the stream was tellin' me it was 3 pm and time for UM to sign off!! A welcome blast of closers past!

That's odd. Where did the stream say such misleading nonsense?!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 8:56am listener james from westwood:

Ah, didn't realize you may not have heard it. At 8:47 it played "The Last Thing on My Mind" by Dolly and Porter.

G'day you ole record spinner.

Ten days and the Marathon kicks in. Any ideas on the grand total?

This is quality flamenco.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:12am Alex In Illinois:

Whoever is in charge of the webpage seriously hates Give The Drummer Radio. It is not possible to navigate to this playlist because the link is obscured by a the YouTube Video.
Avatar 9:12am glenn:

hopefully the canadian dollar will miraculously go back up to par in the nest ten days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am Doug Schulkind:

Gack! Ten days? Quit scaring me, Brian in UK. Marathon begins 6 March. The Drummer Stream is trying to raise enough cash to build a wall around Donnie Trump.

@Alex in Illinois
It is terribly confusing. If you click on GIVE THE DRUMMER RADIO at left next to the big "play" arrow icon, the look to the upper left, you will see "PLAYLIST & COMMENTS" under the Listen Now header. That's how you access it. Sorry for the obfuscation.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:14am Alex In Illinois:

I had to Googe "WFMU Doug Schulkind Give The Drummer Some Playlist" in order to navigate here.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:15am Brian in UK:

The Harlequin Trio with silhouetted creatures. Nice.

@Alex right click the clips until you come to the floating girl.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am Doug Schulkind:

Thank you for efforting it, Alex.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:17am Alex In Illinois:

I tried what Doug described and nothing happens. What Brian in UK describes works. For some reason the Videos are set to obscure the links while the swimming floating girl allows them to appear in front of here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18am Doug Schulkind:

You can audit my show any time, duke.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:19am Brian in UK:

Donald J Trump says no walls can stop me, I am digging a big enough hole to shovel all the kack that I generate.

I cannot get the playlist in top left on computer but can get it on a Nexus (other tablets are available)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Doug Schulkind:

@Alex in Illinois
So the video does not appear to the righthand side of the screen with the new homepage? What browser are you using?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:19am doctorjazz:

Have the same issue with the Home Page (posted about it yesterday), though I did like the Tom Jones Beatles video. The link Doug described didn't work for me either. I get the GOTD email, use the link there to get to the show page, then I can use the Pop-up (work blocks my getting the stream in the other ways).
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:21am Alex In Illinois:

The Video does appear on the right hand side, but when one clicks the "Listen" menu, the menu links appear behind the video. I am using MS IE 10.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22am Doug Schulkind:

Anyone having problems accessing the stream should either email a description of what's happening (not happening) to me or directly to Ken Freedman (ken@wfmu.org) at the station.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:23am Alex In Illinois:

Those links on the left side of the page don't really do anything.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:24am Brian in UK:

It is amazing to hear recently on the BBC seven o'clock news in the morning reports of the deaths of David Bowie and today Paul Kantner. Tear down the walls, Donald. What was once alternative is now.......
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am Doug Schulkind:

When you click the links on the left side, does not the text change under LISTEN NOW?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:25am Brian in UK:

On second thoughts both acts recorded for RCA.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28am Doug Schulkind:

I am so sorry about the homepage redesign problems. I keep hearing new horrors. Please send me or Ken Freedman a description of what's not working for you. The station is conscientiously working to resolve the problems.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:29am Alex In Illinois:

The only thing under "Listen Now" is a line the starts with a list icon followed by the phrase "playlist & comments". Other than that, there is no text. An inch below that is a play icon of an encircled triangle with a dotted line that connects to phrases to the right of it. Clicking on the phrases to the right of the play icon causes the dotted line to connect to whichever phrase is clicked on, but nothing else happens.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:32am Alex In Illinois:

I did not let the lack of functionality of the left side of the page bother me, since the "Listen" menu provided sufficient functionality. But with the video obscuring the options on the "Listen" menu this morning, my path was blocked. But Brian in U.K. has found a workable work-around. I will send an email tonight. I will try some tests on my home PC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35am Doug Schulkind:

If you are not on the Give the Drummer Radio email list, you should be. I send out email blasts in advance of every day of programming with links to to hear the stream and all playlists. Just send a request to drummer@wfmu.org
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:36am Brian in UK:

@Alex just checked with a Nexus and under listen now it shows 'I Don't Have Time' as playing now. Nothing on my PC a Dell. Not Adele. Who I believe is lovely.
Avatar 9:40am Van in DC:

I finally figured out to hover mouse over the big "LISTEN" at top kind of center of page, then move the mouse cursor down to GTDR listing, then a pop out extra window shows to look at the schedule. Then I can click on this show.

Hi Doug!
Avatar 9:41am glenn:

i found that the playlist and comments link didn't work if i was using firefox. safari works fine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am Doug Schulkind:

It's too bad Adele can be on a double bill with Archie Dell & the Drells.

Hey Van in DC! Thanks for figuring that out. I wonder if the "hover" technique will solve it for others?

I reiterate my comment of 09:54. The train of greatness has pulled into Peerless Music station but no passengers are leaving it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Doug Schulkind:

We're back to the "exciting linens" part of the show.

So glad you made it, Webhamster Henry. Sometimes you just gotta climb off that wheel-to-nowhere and relax.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am Doug Schulkind:

I'll back next Friday with an all-new Schiele Dependancy show. Thanks everyone, good night!

There is a sale on beef jerky in the café car!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:44am Brian in UK:

@Flash well I was sated this last Summer when I went to Vienna. It was wonderful, there are no Schieles in the UK. His last works 1914-18 are stunning. That and seeing Otto Wagner's Steinhof church. Wow.

Do I have time for a nap?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Doug Schulkind:

Listening to Baby Huey makes me think of his version of A Change Is Gonna Come, which makes me think of Sam Cooke which makes me think of the show I did on Election Day 2008 in which I played nothing but versions of A Change Is Gonna to Come which makes me think of Barack Obama. I love my president.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am Webhamster Henry:

@Flash Strap I actually played Egon Schiele in a bizarre made-for-cable-tv improvised play. I kind of looked like him at the time.
