Good morning. Scott is getting rowdy.

Maybe should change the name of the show to The Long Rowdy??!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13am
Scott McDowell:

If Donnie Trump wins I'm changing it to The Long Rowdy, ok?
Avatar 6:14am

If Donnie Trump wins...I can't even complete that thought. It's too scary to think about

In order to exhume the spiritual environment soiled by THAT NAME I shall just play Coltrane for the rest of the 3 hours.

If i may allude to that THAT NAME, briefly: The Establishment simply won't allow him to win. They want the reliable Mrs. Clinton: business as usual as regards foreign policy and neo-liberal economics. Despite the changes of style, eloquence, skin colour (and next up, gender), the Reagan-Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama trajectory looks pretty continuous to me. No sharp changes of direction in anything that matters.

Enjoy the show (both the next couple of hours and the next six months).

the Canterbury wood-elf:

Aww, I seem to have broken the continuous Coltrane spell with my political outpourings. Sorry everyone. But this is good too. Coltrane would approve.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18am
Nasty Les:

@canterbury "business as usual" with the expected order being maintained by the Establishment is a pretty depressing thing to find oneself wishing for, but I hope you're right in this case!

AndrewC.:

The first thing they do with a new president is take him into the room to meet the lizards. After that he or she will forget their crazy schemes, and become just like the last guy.

G'TZAG, Scott and everybody! Gotta say that "Beat Bop" helped me set my morning off right, and I'm feeling all the 'Trane!

Speaking of Coltrane and his co-conspirators: Pharoah Sanders is doing a bunch of shows at Birdland in NYC in April, so if you're so inclined, hop on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32am
Scott McDowell:

Did not know that, thanks
Avatar 8:38am
PKNY:

@Scott - luckily I had gotten a popup from Songkick in my e-mail about the run of Pharoah showa. When he played in NYC a few years ago, I didn't find out until after his run was over. Pharoah is at the top of my "must see" bucket list, so I was pretty angry that I didn't know.
