I wonder what we're listening to.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:06pm
AnAnonymousParty:

At least it's snappy.
  3:06pm
Laura L:

Some kinda bongos, no?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:06pm

If only there were some technology, some way of knowing before the microphone break.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm
Irwin:

Ray Bryant on piano.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:07pm
rrg:

But I'm guessing this is Art Blakey.

Laura L:

Does RRG win the smiling dog?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm
Irwin:

Are you sure it's a dog?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:09pm
rrg:

Hi, LL. And though I'm reluctant to keep bringing it, you and I still want to hear that doggie song.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:09pm

I'm not sure it's smiling.

by doggies? or about?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:11pm

About. About that one in the window. The one with the waggly tail.

Smiling doglike things can be so deceptive.

Let's face it, Irwin's a cat person and isn't going to play that song. Nope, he's never going to cat-pitulate.

Parking far away is another way to get more walking done. It adds up. Running can be awesome if you do the couch potato to 5k plan, you run intervals and also walk working your way up to running 5k in a few weeks. Endorphins make me feel 18 again.

Wow. Channeling a little Kenny G today

Stairs, baby! (and meat.) 16 flights so far today! I am mighty, if somewhat winded.

I INSTANTLY knew it was Stereolab. They have been around at least 20 years...I remember listening to them in an attic near the Atlantic City Boardwalk in the 90's...making a metal hand sculpture. The sculpture was movable.

Really loving the trippy guitar on this Flyying Colours track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm

Mark: All the Flyying C's stuff has great guitar. They're from AU.
  3:38pm
Dean:

Australia? Austria? American University?
  3:38pm
Mark R.:

Thanks for turning me on to Lost and Found. Wasn't really familiar with them, and speaking of trippy, what about this album cover?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:38pm
rrg:

Gold.
  3:39pm
Mark R.:

Actually, you're killing me with this whole set. Probably the greatest version of "Jailhouse Rock" in history.

Nor did he have it thrust upon him.

I heard in the beginning early Christians used the fish symbol, but about 50 years later adopted the cross...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm
Irwin:

Regarding the "dog" on today's PL, found him at the Stormville flea market. Did not buy, just took a few snaps. He's not more than a foot long, and it's hard to tell if it's taxidermy or a sculpture with animal fur stitched on. There are seams on the legs and underbelly. There is nothing remotely real going on in his mouth. If it's a dog, what breed?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:24pm

American Bulldog?

Looks like a pitbull head with a golden retriever coloration. So, Joe Frank re-wrote Job.

Irwin, so happy to hear you share the love regarding Dave Mattacks!! He was kind of an old pal i mine as i was connected to the Mary Chapin Carpenter family of musicians and techs. Dave was her drummer for a long time and may still be! i think so.
Thx for the show always. Been a fan for years! :)
