@hyde: I first read your post as claiming "restless keg syndrome", a problem more frequent with college students

@fred heh. it's a little early for restless keg syndrome. maybe later.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am

No joke, when I went to the discogs page for Crisis just now, the banner ad on the right was for Trump. That sound you heard? Irony dying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am
Jeff Golick:

You are welcome, @fred. I think this album remains in need of a formal reissue, at least in the US.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 9:33am

@Jeff: weird, I don't get banner ads on discogs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:34am
Jeff Golick:

@fred: maybe you wisely use ad-blockers?
Avatar 9:37am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

They have Jeff cybertargeted as their kind of malcontent...
Trump used 'Can't Always Get What You Want' on the trail - irony dying indeed.
Avatar 🦀 Swag For Life Member 9:38am
fred:

No, I think it's because I'm in one of the countries that's on Trump's enemy list. I won't be allowed in the US if he's president, and I don't have a vote, so why waste ad money on me?
Trump ads on discogs, really? His campaign is really going off the rails

[RE: Chris Knox/Tall Dwarfs] While I loved watching the Boredoms play when they were a crazed/spasmodic band (as opposed to Krautrocky one they morphed into later), The Tall Dwarfs put on the best concert I ever saw... Opening for Yo La Tengo at the Knitting Factory, sometime in the mid 90's....

Literary prescription for melancholy: begin with a reading of Keats' ode to same, then proceed to Christopher Smart's "Jubilate Agno," a meditation upon the author's "Cat Jeoffry." An excerpt:

For fifthly he washes himself.
For sixthly he rolls upon wash.
For seventhly he fleas himself, that he may not be interrupted upon the beat.
For eighthly he rubs himself against a post.
For ninthly he looks up for his instructions.
For tenthly he goes in quest of food.
For having consider'd God and himself he will consider his neighbour.
For if he meets another cat he will kiss her in kindness.

Had a similar problem with my previous dog, really jealous of my kids (who invaded her space), but she was really old, didn't love that much longer. Younger kids are particularly a tough match with some pets. My kids are older now, and Ozzie is really attached to them.

Too often introduced to an Artist when they pass these days - even Prince, in a way. That is a bittersweet thing. You're deprived of the enthusiasm for what might come - but it's a logical time to get an overview & things...

I first became aware of the original Destination Out website when Alice Coltrane died and you re-upped a couple of tracks that needed to be heard. It is very important to mark these occasions because people feel a real sense of loss.
