A few years ago, I was at a get-together, and among the people gathered was Andy Breckman. I'm a HUGE MJG fan! Their first album is one of my favorite LPs of all time. Yes I had this album when I hit puberty but that's beside the point. Every song on that record is fantastic and it proves what a genius Rick James was. JoJo was the one that could hold it down vocally-but yeah-I get it with the gimmick. Listen to "On the Inside". Excellent. MJG reminds me of the good old days of teen dances and the roller rink.

7: Don't Be Early
When you run into a friend who has a birthday coming up, it's only natural to wish that person a happy birthday in advance. In some parts of the world, however, your seemingly innocent wish is supposed to bring bad luck down on the birthday boy or girl. In Russia, for example, you should never celebrate a birthday until the actual day of the event. If you can't do it that day, wait until afterward to avoid bad luck. In Germany, even wishing someone a happy birthday before the day of the event is bad luck. Just to be safe, some superstitious folks in that country don't give children any gifts until the day after their birthday.

The Sapphires were from Philly, but "rediscovered" by the Northern Soul trend. That was written by Pam Sawyer and Lori Burton. The players included Gamble and Huff, Ashford and Simpson, and Melba Moore.

@Carmichael-Lori Burton also put the song out as Baby You Got Me, which came out on her LP as well as by Prince Harold on Mercury. There's an unreleased Sapphires version as well to the same "Slow Fizz" backing track.

Well, I'm a pushover for foreign-language versions of well-known songs, so I'm digging the shit out of this.

My personal favorite 4 minute non-pop instrumental: "Overture to 'Candide'" by Leonard Bernstein-seriously. Give a listen. Not that anyone asked. Diggin' Parka Pat, also. Love instrumentals. I think that they are harder to write than songs with lyrics. Did you know that there are lyrics to " Peter Gunn"?

Yes Sheila. This doesn't do it for me. This music is dated in its original form. Imagine in another language. I've heard my share of Spanish covers of The Beatles, Eagles, The Mamas and the Papas, and I just got tired of it; just like Im tired of this show. Au Revoir Bichos
