@Liz: I told Benjamin Bret to send his new CD to Brian, even though you're the one who played him. Was that the right move?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm
Liz Berg:

@fred: perfect! Always best to send new music to Brian's attention.

@Polyus: Health comes first but I really enjoyed seeing them two years ago. Not experimental, but well done

Luckily, shows at this venue have to be over by midnight, so I may be able to rally. I like the stuff I have heard from them on WFMU.
Avatar 12:59pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

and possibly better than matinee shows, i'd dig a manatee show now & then. So mellow & floaty...

I saw Sleater-Kinney in the afternoon at Irving Plaza many years ago. It was weird coming out into the bright daylight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm
fred:

@RTD: I miss the Harsh Noise Wall festival. But merging that with a manatee show would be so mind-blowing. It has to happen
Avatar 1:13pm
ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

Sea World should set all the orcas free and replace them with manatees. See how far they get trying to get them to jump through hoops.
Avatar 1:15pm
Whooda:

@ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ That wouldn't be cruel enough for such a kind beast. They could saddle them though and play games of water polo with spurs.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm

@steveo: I once saw S-K on a wooden boat and they were not comfortable at all. They were much more at ease in corporate settings, which is so wrong. I didn't see them when they got started though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm
Bronwyn Bishop:

I liked the Yo La Tengo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm
fred:

@RTD: was all that talk about punching yourself innaface just manatee envy?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm
Michael 98145:

i tend to not be comfortable on wooden boats, myself
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm

Gotta go: Bill Orcutt/Okkyung Lee/Tom Carter show caliing
Avatar 1:33pm
ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

@Whooda: you have a point there, but I think making manatees jump through hoops is plenty cruel enough for them!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
Liz Berg:

Last time I saw S-K, it was to record them at the Primavera Sound fest last year... they played on the largest stage in front of a sea of humanity (not manatees), sounded great and seemed like they were lovin' it.
