Soup and: Just enjoy being there! Are you interested in Art? History? Film? Food? Fashion? I'd say walking around & people watching is a pretty great thing if time is short. Do online research for general info including hours & fees for museums etc. and pick an arrondissement to wander through.
How exciting!

Cruel Summer -- great band name (the track's pretty kickass too)!
Avatar 5:55pm

@soup and fog: I was just there. So much to see and do. The Bateaux Mouches are touristy but a great way to see the city. If you've got the time and inclination to visit museums, the big museum pass can save you time and money. Likewise a Metro pass. There's a big tower on the Champ de Mars... name escapes me.... Also: great food.

Soup and Fog: Ask the institution/organization that's sending you for information/advice. Like all cities it's dynamic and constantly changing and I've not been for a long time. In general my preference is to be led by my eye and intuition. You can find fantastic things that way.

P-90:

Hey Cooh John! Your leftovers sound luxuriously yumyum.
Q: was that you that DJ Sheila B was thanking for a request the other day?
She kept saying "Cool John"...

GoodGawd you could spend eternity in the Louvre alone. I wish I'd walked around & followed my nose more, rather than try & flash thru every Museum in the world in two weeks...Put aside Evening time you still have Energy (...& Money...) to enjoy the actual damned city.

Please, WFMU is having a silent fundraiser. Help support WFMU and "Hello Children with Faye" or else they'll bring back the DJ that plays bug noises, feedback, and static.

@ListenerMark: You mean that one show with Muppets screaming over industrial noises?
Avatar 6:09pm

RevRab: Absolutely! You really can't lose right? You're in a place you've never been! Makes you feel so alive. Like being in love if you're lucky.
Avatar 6:10pm

Yes industrial noises and there are more headbangers working the over night shifts. I listen to archives.
Avatar 6:10pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...yeah it's certainly not like I regret going to a single Museum - just, I was in Paris, but I was never in Paris, & that's dumb...
Avatar 6:13pm
geezerette:

Oh, man, I missed a lot too but that's the point, you will never see everything even if you live there!
  6:15pm
JakeGould:

FWIW, stop worrying about ever seeing every object in every museum. You won't since museums tend to have more stuff in storage than out on display.
  6:15pm

After listening to WNTI which was good many years ago, things changed, suddenly they were moving to the commercial format. This was unacceptable.

@famousoriginalitalianicewolf: You know those small portable AM/FM radio everyone’s mom and dad seemed to have at one point? Fair warning but I have seen fancier versions of those being sold nowadays at “bespoke” fancy shops. Meaning, AM/FM broadcast is sexy again. And those radios cost like $50 and up.
