Hi can't pledge without a credit card. Where is paypal as option?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17am
Jeffrey Davison:

Sorry, I don't know the answer to that just now, but I believe it's possible along the pledge process. Can't double-check now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21am
fred:

@dyingforbadmusic: I couldn't find it either when I pledged. Maybe you should email Joe McGasko and ask whether there is a way to use paypal wfmu.org...

Gee. Thought that sounded like Bobby Weir. Been dipping into Day of the Dead; always a bit behind in my listening.

thanks @fred - I just emailed him. I guess paypal is a pain in the ass, but still the easiest payment option.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31am
Sem Chumbo:

@dyingforbadmusic: Joe gave me these paypal instructions. Go to paypal, when asked who to send money to, use donate@wfmu.org. Use the *notes* box to request swag (or not). Joe, I guess, sees the incoming donations. Job done, it worked for me yesterday.

FWIW I just put the "PLEASE PLEDGE NOW" word out to some online friends.

Bas NL:

I was wondering.. Any chance alternate crowdfunding systems could work cheaper/easier for WFMU?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57am
fred:

@Bas: The current system isn't working in that respect, but a separate crowdfunding system would prevent pledgers from being thanked or winning prizes. And there would still be a need for the internal system for people who call or use snail mail. I don't think crowdfunding works well for a marathon. Would fundraising work without a marathon?

Good morning from Japan! Well, good evening over here.

@fred: Just for the payment aspect of things.. CC payment is not as common in all countries for instance.

good morning all, sorry to be so late.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25am
fred:

@Bas: I don't know why payment was credit card only this time. It's mainly an issue for us foreign listeners. So I'm biased in thinking that was a poor decision. Most likely we just don't give enough to be worth the hassle and expense of a paypal option
Avatar 8:26am
dyingforbadmusic:

@sem thanks for the info. I sent money via paypal.
The system worked well before the WFMU relaunch. I guess paypal is a pain in the ass. They can freeze accounts whenever they want, they take out a lot of fees... but it's the easiest to transfer money.
@Bas is right - CC is not as common in the EU as in the US.

Hey again to all of you kind souls...welcome. Special thanks to pledgers. As to payment, see above comments or contact Joe McGasko.

Exactly - it makes a Statement about Songwriting as 'Literature' - even if Bob doesn't want it!
