I didn't realize that the 6-9am slot was going to one show, I thought it would be broken up, also didn't know it was paid. Put YngDave on the slot!

Todd O Phonic was going through the percent raised per show, he thought he was the lowest.

if it's in fact a paid position then it's pretty sure to suck, as all paid morning shows always have.
...i think my blood is starting to simmer a little. wfmu is in trouble because of reckless use of the money the listeners give to it. this is another example.

are you talking about Steve Rubell?
  10:26pm

@Linda: Janis Ian was def the music guest on the first SNL. They gave the music guests more time in those days, it was more "music and comedy" than"comedy with music" then

CCR was getting Hits - the Dead certainly weren't. Phish is actually Prog as much as Jam - so those typical strengths & weaknesses : great musicianship & not so much songwriters...One hears about Van being too drunk to make shows a lot in history...

though a 'hit' definitely wasn't the ultimate mark of success at the time .. it was the mark of a sell-out.
Avatar 11:03pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The Dead did an end-run around the typical Formula of make a record, get on the radio if you can, & then tour - & just went straight to the touring. The irony of course is that they gradually became their own routine & institution.
