Hey, Bill. Love to be here live but its the last in a series of Christmas Markets today, and folks just gotta have their seasonal spirits. Catch up with you, and the rest of the Zzzzzzeroheads, next Saturday. Later!

Hello Bill.
If by chance you can find a copy of Barrence Whitfield's 'Stop Twisting My Arm, I Already Love You'. It would sum up my feelings perfectly towards WFMU at Marathon time (silent or otherwise)

He fell on his chin
He assassinated himself.

Not sure the link works (not great using the phone for it), but seems to come from seasickness, which becomes very pronounced in adverse weather.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm

Doc that's the sort of thing you do when you are under the weather you look up expressions like under the weather.

Salty Dog Talk. That's what happens when I take Spencer to the woods and he meets a bloodhound. Like this morning.

Bill, it has been nearly four years since your icecapades. How is the ankle holding up. Does it ache more in the cold weather?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
Brian in UK:

Stanley tell me that I only sent you CD-Rs of Urgent Jumping 'cause I cannot find it anywhere right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm
doctorjazz:

When this first came on, Sunburst Band, I thought it was some "out"" jazz. Still not convinced it's not.
Avatar 1:13pm
Bill Mac:

Funny, there are times when an ankle aches and I realize it's the one that wasn't broke, but yeah it never gets beyond a dull throb
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm
Brian in UK:

doc it is a thin line twixt African music, Middle Eastern and even Oriental. We catagorise so much.
I went to a concert last night with Chinese, Syrian and Italian musicians. The last track has the female Syrian singer scat singing. Wonderful. Instruments that I had never seen before. Like the Pipa.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
doctorjazz:

True, tend to put things in boxes, though I like things that fall between the cracks.
Concert sounds great, by the way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm

Brian - yes, the CD-Rs. Using to jump start the car on a cold morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm
doctorjazz:

Getting our to a show in Philadelphia this Thursday night, Nels Cline, Larry Ochs, Gerald Cleaver, looking forward to it. Expect it not to fit neatly into any box...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm
Brian in UK:

I remember in 1969 about two weeks before Woodstock seeing The Who headline (best live band?) On the same bill, the first Yes album had just been released and can you believe Jon Hendricks came on stage and did some scat singing with Jon Anderson. Hard to believe of a band that took a rather shall we say pretentious way forward.
Avatar 1:25pm
Bill Mac:

@Doctorjazz - Where in Philly?

@BiUK - I'd love to see JA in that context

Bill, that first album was nothing like the later stuff. Blew me away, no drugs was only just seventeen. Had a Byrds cover if memory serves.

Bill Mac:

@DJ Oh yeah, in Fishtown. Been to a few shows over there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm
doctorjazz:

In 1969, wouldn't have known who Jon Hendricks was, probably would have been annoyed he cut in on the main event.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm
Brian in UK:

Bill, you got Fishtown in Philly. How far are you from the sea?
Yeah I know names mean nuttin'.
Avatar 1:47pm
Bill Mac:

In Fishtown? 70 miles inland, but the Delaware River is one of that sections borders. I don't know whether it's ever been a location near local fisheries.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm
Brian in UK:

doc this was last nights concert. Unfortunately I was hoping to see a dutar player from Xian Jian but there were some problems, lost passport?

Fishtown is now Philadelphia's Boho artsie neighborhood, from what I'm told. It is near the Delaware River.
