every single one of us has been, or will be, vulnerable in our lives. absolutely true. it's foolish to forget that.

Fox (Rā-chul):

Linda Lee: I will try that! I'll try anything, really. Thanks!

Tim Q:

Great show. Inspiring and so relevant to our times. People complain about paying taxes, but helping each other along is one of the life-affirming parts of society. I was born with some serious physical issues, not quite as serious as Aaron's, but have always been grateful to live in somewhat enlightened times where someone like me was helped rather than cast aside or worse. I guess a lot of us are scared to see how dark and deranged things could get under sociopathic president-elect's regime, but we have to fight the good fight... and thus I very much appreciate your show and Aaron sharing himself with the world.

Ok I gotta get going to the KFAI annual meeting tonight so I gotta split, thank you again for using my material, typos and all, my family and friends will like it!

Hey Fox! Do you have a podcast?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm

hypertoast: yes, I have a podcast. it's about General Hospital. It's called Planet Lumina.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm
melinda:

I think it's the fact of our own vulnerability and the prospect of potential disability that causes people to create some mental distance and deny invisible illness or fail to champion the disabled along with the same zeal given to other minority groups.
Avatar 7:34pm

All fixed!

melinda, absolutely.

i'd rather you get meds with my tax money than the air force gets another plane, Rā-chul! <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm
chad from oregon:

I'm certainly sharing this episode later. I've been living with MS for 15 years or so, and I'm really feeling the topic of invisible disability being allowed to be spoken about in an extended form. That really doesn't happen much - ever. Good stuff tonight.
Avatar 7:43pm
kimzilla:

Thanks so much Chad from Oregon! Its all about the guests.
Avatar 7:44pm
Linda Lee:

Ra-chul, i'll have to find you online.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm

Fascinating story, Rā-chul. Thanks for sharing.
Avatar 7:44pm
Fox (Rā-chul):

Thanks, Linda Lee! Yeah, I was diagnosed by a geneticist, but only that I have EDS through clinical observation, not by a genetic test, so I don't know 100% what type I have.
Avatar 7:44pm
Fox (Rā-chul):

Thanks for listening Ken.

Good to hear your story, too, Ra-chul!

I can say for a fact that when you get her out, Fox is the most wonderful cheerful person to be around. One of my favorite people on the planet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm

Right, when chronically ill no one sees you at your worst and staying home.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

@Linda - Yeah, that money is going to wind up lining the pockets of those already rich and privileged.
Avatar 7:53pm
Linda Lee:

i'm looking forward to finding you online, Ra-chul. great.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm
Greg from ZONE 5:

Ray Ray!
Q: Is there a lobby of some kind that advocates for disabled people?
Avatar 7:54pm
Linda Lee:

vulnerable people generally have no representation in our governance at all. not at all. we're aware of that. neither mainstream party has us in mind at all.
Avatar 7:55pm
Fox (Rā-chul):

I do not know of any such lobby. But that is a grand avenue of thought. I will ask the spoonies of the internet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

My son has Asperger's, so he gets some government services. Will see how things go with the new administration.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm

That is horrifying.
