Stream dropped out there - restarted.
That Dead made me think of the Airplane, yeah - tho' there's a well-known interview Jerry says @ the time he didn't think the SF bands were that much alike...I always ponder the contrast & comparison to the Elevators (from Austin) too...

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& I like to ponder what L.A. Psych bands share & don't: SoCal Latin influence in Love, Butterfly, doors...keyboards in most of those - TheSeeds too...

...ah - Half a Century - 'The Summer of Love' - brace yourselves!...

GarageHeads & Critics by now are used to exalting 1966 as IT - but ya hafta credit the Year of Rawk's full technicolor bloom...

@geez: The thot comes unbidden. I remember '87 - the 20th...One year I was watching 'Monterey Pop' - which I have periodically - & it just seemed irretrievably remote, even as an echo...Terence McKenna said Society was stuck in Adolescence & hasn't grown up - & frankly I think we've reached a point that most Institutions have given all they can give, & we can't take things for granted anymore.

...@Tome: Yeah great...if not quite an organic free massing in the park...

@RevRab: Good point, taking nothing for granted. That's an often unmet goal for me but a very good attitude to take.
Love the image, Leary & Ginsberg. Really does seem mythological.

Happy weekend to you, and all.

If night and morning are confusing, I set myself down for a “nap” at around 6:00pm tonight and got up at about 11:30pm. Fun city!
