Favoriting January 17, 2017: JONATHAN HERTZBERG Returns
Soundtrack fanatic Jonathan Hertzberg returns to spin a selection of cues from films of 1981, a year which has been referred to as "the last year of the 70s." Jonathan's exhaustive knowledge of John Lindsay and Ed Koch-era NYC as portrayed in film can be experienced and enjoyed through his "Dirty Old New York aka Fun City" video series. Check out Jonathan's past Morricone Island-curated shows of music from films featuring NYC preserved in all of its glory and teen-oriented coming-of-age films here and here.

the nice thing about being in nyc at the time re moviegoing, was that every possible genre was available to see *in a movie theater as intended* !!

I think the first movie I saw on cable was All That Jazz. Also one of the first NYC-based films I'd seen, it made quite an impression.
