Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

The interferograms? They remind me a little of Hans Reichel's daxophone instruments. You know those?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
Webhamster Henry:

Sure.. but iterferograms are a little more like Chladni patterns.
I'd sure like a Daxophone, and the daxophone website has instructions!

What is going on with the Hammered Dulcimer? Sounds kind of prepared. HD's are one of the instruments I play in my band.

Glad indeed to be around for this one! Digging the combo!

The hammer dulcimer in this case is played through a tiny little amp and I mic-ed that so it is colored a bit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
David D:

Love the dulcimer - the trombone, too!

Kenzo has more Last Ever's than Sinatra!

Excellent variation on usual hammered dulcimer sound.

Love the name, "Experimental Easy Listening", and, you know, it's pretty accurate.

I believe I've found their Bandcamp: jantar.bandcamp.com
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm

Finding label with some pizzazz is getting very difficult ain't it? After acid-jazz I thought we should all just go silent.

Somehow, next week and every Wednesday, I'll be here from 5-7pm ET, improvising samples and loops and the very nature of everything. Maybe see y'all there? lastever.org

There's something real Telharmonium-y about this piece.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm
weinstein:

I have Shelley's version of this instrument in my storage space if anyone wants to invest in a rebirth! Really!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm
weinstein:

Shelly next week... see you all then, and Kenzo right after. Bye!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:58pm
Webhamster Henry:

I mean Trautonium-y. Well, I kind of live in a storage space, it wouldn't seem out of place!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:59pm
listener james from westwood:

Thanks a bunch, David and Ruth!
