Long ago I lived across the street from a Winchell's Donuts shop. Late one night somebody tried to break into my roommate's car parked on the street. (Turns out it was my roommate's brother, but no matter.) We checked the Winchell's and, sure enough, there was a cop seated there. My roommate ran over and told him somebody was stealing his car. The cop replied, *chomp* *chomp* "Yeah, I saw the whole thing" *chomp *chomp*.

According to the scribbled cover at the above link, Cornwell recorded in Sacramento at "Bill Race Studios." There was a Bill Rase Studios in Sacto that, according to this site, recorded records from '65-'68: https://www.newsreview.com/sacramento/other-side-of-bill/content?oid=60706

Speaking of recordings, I spent part of Sunday with engineer Warren Dewey at his Berkeley stereo shop. Brought my copy of Little Feat's "Waiting for Columbus" remastered for vinyl by Mobile Fidelity. He worked on a good chunk of that album, but hadn't heard the remastered release. He was fairly impressed with it, and he recounted how he hung microphones down a spiral staircase the band ascended to the stage, singing a song Lowell George prompted before every show. That's why the first two minutes or so of the record sound so out of focus, before the introduction and the band kicks off "Fat Man..."

I used to have his contact info but just now see his email address no longer works. I foolishly passed on buying his LP because I was short of cash and not altogether convinced he'd actually follow through after I sent cash (his preferred payment).
