This vibraphone recital is reminding me of high school history class, when we smuggled in an oscillator and played a high frequency just above sub-audible levels. The teacher couldn't figure out what he was hearing, had to pause the lecture to ask. We 'fessed up, giggled.

Now, off with Ozzie, he still gets solo time on his walk (he's not doing too badly having a "younger sibling" horn in on his turf, as long as she doesn't get close when he chews on a bone)..
Avatar 10:23am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...now - some hold TheShaggs' (NewHampshuh's own, btw) 'Philosophy of hte World' album to be the most singularly unaffected Rawk music ever made...Myself, I marvel how similar its' deconstructions are to 'Trout Mask Replica', in a quite similar period...& from completely opposite directions - tho' 'Trout Mask' too is the product of a forced insularity (some say even a Cult)...

Never been able to "get" Sinatra, his voice doesn't do it for me. His timing use supposed to be what's special about him, but I don't really get it.
Avatar 10:35am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

That's what I mean by 'opposite directions'...
Yeah how can you deny Frankie there? I think I tried long long ago but always really liked him too. I like Crooning. I would say phrasing more than timing exactly...Miles appreciated him, ferinstance - tho' Miles also said Prince was like the Duke or something...
  10:36am
Dean:

Just had leftovers for breakfast from a feast in the park hosted yesterday by parents of a friend of my son. They're sending their kid to India for boarding school next week. Family is Tibetan, but spent most of their time in India by way of Virginia and, now, Berkeley. Probably 30 attendees, but catering would have satisfied twice that number. Tibetan, Indian, and Moroccan fare. The hot sauce was so delightfully caustic that I'm crying.

Saw Sinatra live during one of his "New York, New York" tours. Caught him on a good night.
