I really loved going into the warehouse at Rhino and filling up on these CDs. I got to hear everything.
  6:12pm
Werner from ATL:

Prior to Rhino one had to buy the SIRE Brit Invasion albums or the IMport Decca/EMI Vinyl releases
  6:14pm
Tim_Elliott:

I remember the Sire album sets.

Werner from ATL:

Just read the Shel Talmy interview in the latest Record Collector mag. Shel is saying that there are TONS of unreleased things he products, that would be a great project for Harold and Andrew, wouldn't it, hint...?

Werner from ATL:

Yes Tim, I'm glad the Zombies see some belated commercial success these days. Whenever they play here in Atlanta, all the record stores are buzzing about it
  6:37pm
Werner from ATL:

The Rhino Invasion series (9 CD's) did a good job combining commercial with obscure. I wonder if that we to help sell it or to genuinely reflect the spirit of the times, I'd imagine a bit of both?
Avatar 6:38pm
cometothesunshine:

Hard to know, Werner. But a great catalyst for a better understanding of the era.
Avatar 6:43pm

In Dave Davies band we used to sing I'm A Lot Like Everybody Else.

Haha he sang it straight when I saw him a couple months ago.

Werner from ATL:

Love the TRoggs. In 1977 I left a Yes show in the middle of show because TRoggs were playing a few miles away in Munich and frankly they were more compelling for me

Rhino released 6 or so Turtles EP's with unreleased tracks in mid 80's, some signed by band. That's when I first got turned on to Rhino as a "collector's" label
