I always confuse The Trip with Psych-Out.

melinda, the dif between the 2 is that "Psych Out" has something resembling a plot, and hence isn't as good. "The Trip" has no such distractions, just one long hallucinatory party.

"The Last American Movie" by Dennis Hopper also has no plot, is one long,hallucinatory trip,(cocaine fueled(, with some stunning images. Didn't search, so title might be slightly off.

"The Last Movie" ha, saw that one too! Killed Hopper's career, until David Lynch (and we're back to him again) revived it in the '80z.
