I can't remember the science fiction novel from c.1960,I think involving enhanced animal intelligence, in which the Cold War has been superseded by a death-struggle between America and a militant Cao Dai. Man, Theosophy is damn racialist, deny it though they try, and also gets evolution so wrong the SubGeniuses look believable by comparison. (All races descend from the Aryan 'Root Race' from India, except for some Africans and Polynesians and Australians who descend from earlier Root Races, lack the Divine Spark, and fortunately will die-out soon.Some Root Races devolved into apes and monkeys.) (If I didn't understand potatoes better, I'd say this Root Race stuff was Devo's 'spuds'.)
