Fela was jailed under suspicion of marijuana use. The authorities kept him in jail long enough for him to produce human waste, which they planned to test for the presence of the drug. Knowing this, all of Fela's fellow inmates plied him with copious quantities of food and drink in order to dilute the eventual sample. The effort succeeded and Fela had to be freed. Expensive Shit tells the story.
