Well, I saw “The Last Jedi” and my complaint has little to do with “Star Wars” universe stuff, but rather the pacing, editing and need to shove TONS of unneeded jokes that seemed to be right out of “Spaceballs” in the film.

The overall plot points and even the scenes that straight lifted shots and ideas from the original trilogy? I can deal with. But if they played every “jokey” thing seriously, that would have made this a better film.

thanks, dev. Jake, I do think you are right about saying vs. showing. They rely a lot on the information revealed in the books without keying into them in the film, like how Kylo found out Vader was his grandfather. I don' t think they have in film yet.

I think what’s happening with these Disney films its they are purely the tent-poles that hold up all the other media connected to the “saga” now. I wonder if—for example—things like the “Star Wars: Battlefront” world will be used to explain things even more.
