Avatar 3:45pm Mailman Tom:

I'm pretty sure they banned "Jungle Rock" in the U.S. because of its title.

Excellent program today! Lots of great tracks in that hour
  3:55pm stuart:

They may have banned "Jungle Rock" but maybe they should have banned "Jungle Love" by Steve Miller
  4:01pm noel:

and Bungle in the Jungle but leave Jungle Fever alone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Doobois:

Bill, you never fail to crack me up at least once each week. Cheers to you, sir!
  4:22pm Al:

My favorite garage band from Delaware is the Enfields.
  4:25pm Al:

Regarding radio in NYC not being as good as in other cities: My love affair with radio began when I was hunting in the dark for WABC one night, and hit CKLW in Windsor, Ontario, across the river from Detroit - "The Big 8" - instead. Much more fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm artbrau:

likewise in Cleveland, looked for CKLW. Always wanted to see a concert in Cobo Hall since I heard so many ads for shows there. Then WMMS changed format and life was all good.
  5:00pm Al:

I love the names of some of these record labels. My favorite: Sex with Lurch.
  5:00pm stuart:

when I was a boy, i had my parents buy me the "Mr Custer" single. looking back, it is so politically incorrect that it should probably never be played again, except as an historical document...
  7:15pm Bill Kelly:

Al...CKLW, WOWO, WLS and especially WKBW were my out-of-town AM radio landing spots in the early and mid 60's. From 67-71, it was WORC and WSAR on AM and WAAF on FM.
  8:39pm 77-Musicradio WABC:

You suppose lyrics "I got an x-ray camera hidden in your house that sees what I can't see" was too creepy for us to play "I Spy for the FBI"?
  8:39pm 1250 WMTR, Morristown:

You mispronounced Ghidorah
GEY-door-ah
  8:40pm FAKE NEWS checker:

The TURTLES played their own instruments on their recordings, contrary to this deejay's crediting studio musicians
  11:23am bk:

Fake news checker...It turns out that you are kee-rect. Whodathunk that Flo and Eddie and their anonymous minions would have been virtually the only LA area band that would eschew the Crew?
  2:08pm Ghidorah the Explorer:

A how to pronounce "Ghidorah" forum corrects me. "Ghidrah" (GEY-drah) was how the Monster Week star was introduced to English markets by the Big Show 4:30 Movie - how I remember. In unseen sequels after The People's Court got the time slot, however, the English dubbing got voiced the Paul Hogan way you pronounced, g'DOOR-ah.
  9:11pm bk:

I was more of a Linda Kozlowski fan myself.
  12:48pm "Mr. Custer" extras:

you might also like, on YouTube:
The Redwoods - "Please, Mr. Scientist"
The Scouts - "The Mr. Custer Stomp"
Swag For Life Member 1:29pm peapeagirl:

Wow! I faintly remember Mr. Custer from my toddler days. Loving every minute.
  10:56am Ellie Greenwich extra:

Note: the Redwoods - "Please, Mr. Scientist" . . . . was Jeff Barry
