Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm

@Stanley, I'm thinking the Furby may indeed be a form of mouse, now that you mention it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm
fred:

Are Talk Normal still active? I liked them, even saw them once
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm
weinstein:

From what I understand, Talk Normal is not active.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm

Sprint bought Electronics Hut and they went out of business. I used to get my Unrealistic radios and tape recorders from them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm
weinstein:

Welcome Sem and Henry! Did Sprint kill the Hut or did they just do a Radio Shak?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm
weinstein:

If you like the multimedia noise scene, tonight is David Linton's birthday bash at H0L0.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm
fred:

Nice set, thanks

listener james from westwood:

I'd not heard of Gold Dime but I'm glad to have learned of them and to have heard Ambro's wild pipes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm
weinstein:

I think this is a very solid band and Ambro works incredibly hard, plus the performance is compelling to watch.
Avatar 3:43pm
northguineahills:

Min Xiao Fen did an excellent album w/ Derek Bailey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm
fred:

I'd love to see Min Xiao Fen someday
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm
weinstein:

Min Xiao Fen did a music to the silent Chinese classic film, The Goddess last Sunday at Roulette. I bet she tours it.

My friend Kevin Hobby has a completely different thing called a hyperpiano.
I made a sample instrument out of it.

There are a bunch of compositions done with it for a presentation last year. I actually turned myself into Gregorian chanting choir, singing that theme.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm
steveo:

electric trombone = yes please
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm
weinstein:

Ah yes, Dino was the master. And then he gave it up for his newly beloved lap steel!

Not Familiar w J.A. Deane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36pm
weinstein:

Thanks, Fred. It's nearly 58 minutes and I tried to excerpt it but just got seduced by its progression.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm
weinstein:

Look for J.A. Deane on Butch Morris albums and Jon Hassell stuff from the 80s-90s. He's also on the original Zorn Cobra double CD.
Avatar 4:40pm
geezerette:

"Seduced by progression." A perfume, or a band name...?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm
weinstein:

Maybe a short story title? Though I do love the idea of "Progression by Dior".
Avatar 4:43pm
geezerette:

Ha! Exactly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:45pm
