Welcome, Satis! How's everything in Manchester this a.m.?

It's very sunny here, 57 degrees! Still slightly recovering from going to Soup Kitchen on Saturday night, but Janka Nabay is helping
  4:09am

It's refusing to warm up here in NY/NJ, but at least it's been sunny...

oh i really like this track!

Good morning-ish from Oregoon, Mr. R. This is just what I need to help me write freaking annotated babble-ography for #%$%#
  4:51am
markr:

The funny thing is, I never heard of this band until this week, and just a couple hours ago, Jeff played another track from this album!
  4:51am
markr:

Glad to be of assistance, Oop.

Oop All Night:

Oh, dang! Missed Unit Structures!
  4:53am
markr:

Well, that's why we have the archives. Speaking of archives, I mentioned earlier, check out Jeff Golick's Destination OUT show from yesterday--it was all Cecil Taylor, including a two hour-plus concert of solo piano. Incredible.

i’m putting this on my “to purchase” list

Scraps deSelby:

Also, Jeff played the best (in my opinion) Cecil Taylor Unit album, One Too Many Salty Swift and Not Goodbye, all three LPs (or two CDs) of it. Just awesome.

Greets, Mark, and those who revel in circularity.

Lydia:

I used to love flexidiscs. Is Evatone still making them? They were the only ones who were afaik.
  5:07am
markr:

That's true, Scraps, he went over his usual two-hour time, I don't know if they archive his show beyond two hours, though :(
  5:07am
markr:

Welcome, Sem! Boy, that's a good question, Lydia, I really don't know!
  5:08am
markr:

For those of you who like to begin your day with some quiet meditation, this is the perfect track for ya.
  5:09am
Lydia:

I still love them actually—and cereal box records, of course. Some indie cereal should bring those back.
  5:10am
markr:

Indie cereal's a great idea. I'm not sure if it should be all-natural or all-sugar.
  5:12am
markr:

Hey, in the 80s I walked into a grocery store and saw "Urkel-O's"--if they can make Urkel-O's, we can make some indie cereal.
Avatar 5:14am
Scraps deSelby:

Jeff emailed me that he though he was concerned at the end of the show that he didn’t know if it was all recorded, it was in fact recorded. It was all there. Cheers!
  5:17am
Lydia:

All-natural. There’s quite enough all-sugar in mainstream cereal.
Avatar 5:17am
Scraps deSelby:

(Jeff’s usual time is three hours. But he even went over that by a half hour or so.)
  5:19am
markr:

Oh ok--good to know! It was a fantastic show, I'm glad it's all been saved. Anyone who loves Cecil Taylor would enjoy it. I was listening to that solo stuff just floored by the pure athleticism of it-and he was over 70 years old when he recorded it!
  5:19am
Lydia:

Wow, Urkel had his own cereal...
  5:21am
markr:

Yes, I'm sure it was all sugar.
  5:22am
Lydia:

It’s gotta be gluten-free or I’m out.
  5:22am
markr:

Well, you take care of the cereal itself and I'll do the marketing.
  5:35am
Lydia:

The cereal is a vehicle for the record of course, i.e. music instead of sugar.
  5:42am
markr:

Of course...
  5:43am
Lydia:

Is Chocolate “Urkel” cereal racist?£
  5:44am
markr:

I'm too white to be qualified to answer that question.
  5:45am
Lydia:

Okay, Mark. We’ll figure it out! Speaking of which, I’m out now. Thanks for ‘FMUing!

Well, for some people, 5:45 IS late night--VERY late. Walk-of-shame music.

545 is still late by my watch!
  5:55am

Right, so I'm OK with the Steely Dan, right?
