Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Hello, Ridgewood radio, and all. Ear holes wide open.

Hi David and all you out there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm
david w:

Welcome Henry and Sem. I'm glad to hear the harmonics make it through the radio wires. This piece is subtle, and sometimes spare.
And very well made.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:13pm
Webhamster Henry:

It's more a question of whether the harmonics get through the stream compression algorithm, but whatevs.

Greetings djazz, enjoy!

What Henry said... this is one challenge of playing things not built for streaming (like 99% of everything else made today).

The Only Chris Brown piece is a Tzadik release from the 90s.

@ngh, and some work with The Hub (Mark Trayle, John Bischoff...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm
david w:

oh, and with Pauline O and Willie Winant, but always in collaborator situations...

Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

GTDR streaming is especially rough
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm
david w:

Is that because of the content or our specs?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
Webhamster Henry:

Fo'c'sle is an abbreviation for "Forecastle" , pronounced FOHK-səl.
Avatar 3:41pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Specs, the 128k MP3 streaming ain't the best for some of our things
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm
david w:

Thanks Kenzo and Henry, I am the wiser now.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:52pm
Webhamster Henry:

Sometime you should stream "Only everything lasts forever" and bypass the MP3s stream:
kylemcdonald.net...

Kyle McDonald is another Dr. PO collaborator
Avatar 4:11pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

"the entire composition is approximately 10^450 years long"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
david w:

That sounds like a Kenzo project to tackle. Signal to brain post-biological quantum streaming.

Jane Henry:

Hi David,
No electronics in this 2nd piece of mine. It's all me & that one long Jerry Hunt bow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
david w:

Jane! That's remarkable.
  4:31pm
Jane Henry:

Well, now the 'electronics' come in. And a real bow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm
david w:

Thanks, Jane! And everybody!
  4:44pm
Jane Henry:

Thank you David!
Avatar 4:51pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Loving the bowing
Avatar 4:58pm
Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Up next on this GTDR stream: "Music From Airports" (what's on your mind? nothing):
40 sound sources spontaneously collaged into one, live on the air. Playful messiness, beautiful nothingness, and a phone call from the airport.
Come along! wfmu.org...

Bye all.
