Hello, hello. Nice start! This weekend I watched a 1968 Haight-Ashbury doc I’d never seen before: Revolution. It’s got music by Country Joe & the Fish, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Steve Miller Band, and Mother Earth…including some live footage. There’s a scene at Morningstar commune, and also a performance of psych-out light show and nude dancing (by Ann Halprin dancers, including her daughter Daria who later acted in Antonioni’s Zabriskie Point). If ya wanna watch it (after Avant Ghetto, natch), it's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W54wktcewz4

Thanks for tip, Saucerful. I've got it on a real crummy dvd that's all but unwatchable that I found at the flea market. Next hot day I want to stay inside...

Jeff, have you heard this group's collaboration with Timothy Leary called Seven Up? My curiosity is piqued.
Avatar 12:51am

I always wondered how that collab happened...I mean, I know Leary was hiding out in Switzerland, but it seems crazy he hooked up with Ash Ra Tempel!

Good Morning Jeff and listeners. I used to listen regularily to a German (WDR) radio programme "Schwingungen" named in honour of the Ash Ra Temple record of the first set tonight. Well, of course, "they" cancelled the programme decades ago and started a steady decline in quality and so on, you know the gist. Thanks for your show Jeff!

I love this song. It could be an hour long, and still not long enough.
