I play music that is old and that is new. Some of it is digital while some is analog. It is from many different countries; sometimes it is loud and at other times it is quiet.

I like how Mayuko dropped a cookie monster reference in there while ripping on rude parents lol

Agree one million percent with your message today. (Wish some NYC parents & kids & "branding experts" would listen to it)... and seconding Gary's request for the documentary pointer!

Hi rbrt! I remembered it well because I was impressed that he was very quick to get it, haha. and also his painting was pretty good for a monster who just started, if I remember correctly.

Talibam! is playing a noise fest in Miami, so I'm going down to see them, then driving Matt back up (Kevin bought his airline ticket back in Jan, so, he has to go back). (I'm about 5+ hours from Miami)
Avatar 1:36pm
Mayuko:

@Mark I mean it's great to win an award, and there's a good reason marketing and branding strategies exist, but that should not be the ONLY measurement for what you do when life itself is such a complicated, diverse thing... But parents who listen to WFMU must be already aware of this, haha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
listener james from westwood:

Always here for Hun-Huur-Tu.
Avatar 1:40pm

Welcome, Sem!! This radio show does not ease any of those symptoms but hopefully make them enjoyable.

Nice that you played Bembeya: when salespeople from my ISP showed up to sell me an internet upgrade, we ended up talking about African music for maybe 30 minutes. Of course I told them about the station, and gave a taste of the breadth of the archives by asking them to name bands and finding them there. One was from Guinea, and he asked for Bembeya. He even sent me an email weeks later to thank me for the recommendation

Hearing about Rob's birthday reminded me that yours is coming soon, I think (and Doug's too). So happy birthday to you both
