(My MA was on modelling gentrification for non-profs to predict where it would happen to help them assist those in gentrification's peril. Unfortunately, it's too much of a behemoth to handle)

I kept my Southern charm and said hello and talked to everyone on my block (I'm rather talkative, as you can tell), it led to certain advantages in Brooklyn, lets just say....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm
david w:

Oh, NGH, there's a challenge. Admirable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm
fred:

I like this BKLYN!ZULU set. You've played them before, I think
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm
david w:

Yes, Fred. I have. I want to see them keep at it!

The challenge, how to balance getting reinvestment into the community w/o replacing it.....

βrian:

I'm fed up. Fed up with gavage!

It's happening here in G-ville as well (on a smaller scale).

Hello, DW, the Ridgewood crew, and all assembled here, now, for this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm

Ruth says G-ville is kind of a cool town.

Gentrification is raising its gilded head in Kingston as well. Am I part of the problem? I would be if I had a job or something.

England/Croatia 1-1 so far.
Avatar 3:30pm
northguineahills:

ack, missed the Croatia goal! Blasted work!
Avatar 3:31pm

Yeah, I can't find it streaming anywhere. I may have to duck out to the bar.

Does BRKLYN!ZULU have any connection to the Soul Sonic Force (the Africa Bambaataa collective)?

I got priced out of Brooklyn.....

I'm up for it, David.

Adventure is my middle name. Long story (family, eccentricity)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm
david w:

Sorry, NGH. ZULU crew is relatively young and we have not really been able to dig deep into their origin story, though Ali Santana's family is musical.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
Webhamster Henry:

This is fun - what was going on on screen?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm
david w:

For Gantt, the screen had his friend playing a VR game and wandering through imaginary landscapes.

Amazing how these sets work so well without their video component
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm
david w:

Yes, Fred. Agreed. The is 100 minutes plucked out of about 400 minutes recorded at the festival. So, it's selective...
Avatar 4:22pm
βrian:

Croatia up by one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm
fred:

@david: of course it's selective, but for 25% to reach that autonomy is a pretty high level. Especially appealing to me because I'm short so usually don't get to see much
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23pm
david w:

Thanks, βrian. I'm trying to focus so glad to have the help!

Nice; I saw on his bio that he worked for Cycling '74, which means one of my many bosses might know him and could tell me if/when he tours nearby
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm

Yeah, his tech is very advanced yet he likes those retro oscillators.
Avatar 4:54pm
