i normally don't do the insecticides; in fact i try very hard to convince the property owner to approach it differently...but this was an emergency.

i'd never seen caterpillars the way i saw them today, decimating a hazelnut tree. each leaf had little dark caterpillars hanging from the edges, eating, around the entire diameter of whatever was left of the leaf.

...i don't think it's over either. for one thing she didn't have anything specifically for caterpillars, so we used ant & roach killer. ("natural" ones) i think many of them survived.
