It was riveting and I finally understood what my parents experienced a decade and change earlier w/ WG.

As a kid, I didn't have a concept of "dated references"-- if I saw Bugs Bunny make a joke about Eddie Cantor, or found an old National Lampoon with jokes about Spiro Agnew, I felt like the onus was on me to learn about them. EVERY OTHER country has a state-funded post office, its job is to spread written information affordably for ALL citizens, confidentially.

Moses complains to God how difficult these people are to manage, that they want a King to lead them, and not just to rely on faith and being moral in behavior. God consels against it, saying if you establish a king, he will take a census, and use it to amass an army for wars. It has and always will be populists and fundamentalists that will destroy us.
