Favoriting August 9, 2018: Officer Matt
This week on the In Real Life podcast, heroes come in many colors...or all colors. All the colors of the rainbow at once. That’s right, lifers—if you wondered what it might be like to be gay on the police force (when it wasn’t okay to be gay on the police force), then tonight’s intrepid hero’s tale is for you. Join us as we sit down with Officer Matt Stanislao—officer, scholar, storyteller—and get the real story.

My first boss' best friend was a cop. He would come in the record store regularly to play the video games. Invariably this would end with a red faced torrent of verbal and physical abuse directed at the machines. I've also never seen a person get more irate at missing condiments/napkins in a fast food order in my life. I never got pulled over by him, but was always glad to have that familiarity in my back pocket.

That firing story is crazy. I thought they just put you on dead-end tasks.
