@Neanderthal Head no why?

Had it been extremely dry there? It's been very dry all summer here in MI.

@medson Oh, I was just wondering with Wake & Bake and all that.
Avatar 10:28pm

Oh shit, Cosmic Invention...I love this album so much. I own it but will probably rebuy the Drag City reissue because there's a bonus jam I think.
Avatar 10:29pm

There is a bonus jam and its Glorious.

@Neanderthal Head. ah, No I'm not in until Wednesday
Avatar 10:31pm

The new cover isn't much of an improvement of the old one. I liked the early Photoshop art style. I wish they'd just used the cow from the inner cover or something
Avatar 10:31pm
Neanderthal Head:

This sounds great. Never heard of Cosmic Invention.
Avatar 10:32pm
Adamsworth:

@Neanderthal Head it is another band of Batoh from the band Ghost, the Japanese one, not the corny (imo) metal band.
  10:34pm
Greg:

Looks I’ll need to pick up this Cosmic Invention reissue - it’s killer!
Avatar 10:35pm

@Adamsworth I like it a lot.

Avatar 10:36pm

I'll have to check out Ghost, too. Where does one begin?
Avatar 10:37pm
Adamsworth:

Also another Maskaki Batoh project which I think is hugely underrated are his 2 albums with Helena Espvall. They can be found pretty cheap, too!
Avatar 10:38pm
Adamsworth:

@Neanderthal the Ghost album Lama Rabi Rabi is my favorite, thought it's also the first one I ever heard.
Avatar 10:39pm

this is from 1997!

I think I found this album super cheap used because I was online friends with that guy Lee Jackson in like 2000, maybe even '99..
Avatar 10:41pm

He turned me on to so much cool stuff. He'd definitely be a regular listener to this show if he were still with us. RIP.

Those Batoh/Espvall records are fantastic!

Avatar 11:32pm

@mb Thanks for the reading tip. That article mentions Lansing, MI, where I am now, as having a 'race riot' in '67. That history is so important - as events in D.C. show...

So great to hear the Cosmic Invention record! Had no idea it was being reissued. I think it was more of a Michio Kurihara-led project than Masaki Batoh but perhaps I've misunderstood.

golly, Nathan Salzburg's playing is just gorgeous, as always

If you like Cosmic Invention and Ghost from this period, the obvious next stop is: Sweet & Honey ‎"Live At Your Cosmic Mind" (1997)
