...i was inspired ny "Johnzon" on a recent comment board and prepared my salmon tonight (which i'm eating now) differently than usual. fresh jalapeno lots of hot paprika and more cayenne than usual, and watercress and tomato etc it's very good.

I forget that salmon is good with tomato and peppers rather than my default capers and dill. I need to eat more fish. I once made a great Burmese fish curry with just garlic, ginger, tomato, turmeric, fish sauce and cilantro. But I lost the recipe and winging it didn't work as well.

i haven't been able to have my own garden in a few years but have freedom to use part of my sister's - alas barely did anything with that so far this season. i've always grown a few kinds of peppers even though i don't eat that much of that just because the plants are so beautiful; and i've always had great success with them. for some reason the peppers my sister planted amounted to nothing.

i did grow some tomatoes (& a few other things) in pots on my deck; and yes it got too hot too fast. they fruited but split open and then the chipmonks got 'em anyway. i got one, which was mostly usable. (the one i ate tonight)
