I saw Love perform at the Fillmore East back in February 1970. I play this song every August. BTY, there is a great live version of this on YT taken from the year 1970.

Mailman Tom:

I had been going to the Fillmore East since it opened in early 1968. I saw the Grateful Dead for the first time at the Fillmore East in June 1969. I had a close friend who liked the Dead, so I took him with me to see them in February 1970. An unknown band from the South were making their NYC debut, and they opened the show that night. They were the Allman Brothers! The next band to play was Love, who I always wanted to see ever since my older brother brought home their 1st album in 1966. Arthur Lee and his band were magnificent! The headliners, the Grateful Dead, were introduced by Zacherley, a local TV horror movie host. The Dead played until 5:45 AM and it turned out to be one of their most famous shows. The ticket prices were $3, $4, and $5. There was a time when I was seeing a rock concert every weekend, and this particular show was one of my all time favorites.
