Labor of Love: Radio Ping-Pong w/ Katie Gentile:
Indie Rock vs. World Music Cover Song Battle!

Hear this show now: Pop-up listen Pop-up player! | Add or read comments

The seventeenth edition of an annual late summer tradition: Rob Weisberg and longtime sidekick Katie Gentile play radio ping-pong, trading tracks back and forth. Rob bounces popular and unpopular music from around the world off Katie's vintage and contemporary indie rock. It's genre-clashing at its FMU-iest.

This year's special theme: World and non-world cover versions!

Rob, as you may know, is an unpaid radio DJ and record geek. Katie, on the other hand, is an academic, blogger, author, open-water swimmer and violinist in the band The Special Pillow.

Katie’s most recent book is The Business of Being Made (Routledge, 2016). The Special Pillow's latest album is Sleeping Weird (Zofko, 2018).

Dear fellow listeners, i'm trying to to find a song I heard about a year ago "the farther one travels" A George Harrison/ Confucius collaboration it turns out, but kind of a stripped down hillbilly version. Might have heard it on Scotts' show but searches futile. possibly re-titled?
