Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Dean, The Bahooka has a long history in the SGV. When I was little it was in the parking lot of Thriftymart. When my mom was inside shopping, I would go to the Bahookka at sit on the anti-aircraft gun they had out front. It was on a turret that you could swivel left and right, up and down. It's still in the front of the place that's in the Rosemead location. I just saw it the other day.

In the early '80s, Tiny Tim made some extra scratch by hiring himself out to perform as the emcee at college talent shows. I was in a band that performed at such a revue at Oberlin in about '80 or '81. Tiny flew in to Cleveland and we picked him up at the airport and drove him in to Oberlin. Tiny was given some thumbnail descriptions of all the acts and he did his shtick and played uke in between all the performances. Tiny Tim was possibly the smelliest person I have ever been proximitous to.
