It’s still night over here in Snohomish County, Washington. ;-)
Avatar 3:38am
Jay/London:

the sun been up for about 2 hours here ... nice and sunny .. but cold Scraps
Avatar 3:41am
Scraps:

It’s actually a rare windstorm here. And cold, but not freezing. (It’s also rare that it does.)
Avatar 3:44am
Scraps:

Actually, I think the range of temperature in London and Seattle is about the same.... I think
Avatar 3:47am
Jay/London:

yeah i think so we have daylight saving here now so its only 4 hours ahead of u now
Avatar 3:49am
Scraps:

I’m on the west coast, so probably 7 hours
Avatar 3:50am

(It’s 12:50)

Avatar 3:54am

If I like the 12 to 3 show — like Stan’s — I’ll stay up. I’m disabled, too; no work (though I do like to keep a regular schedule)
Avatar 3:54am
Jay/London:

i also can not work ... wfmu is a life saver

Hey Stan, Jay and Scraps. A foggy autumn day in Finland.
Avatar 3:56am
Jay/London:

Avatar 3:57am

Anyone know who this amazing psych jam is by? I know the playlist will be posted at a later date, but curious now. Maybe Japanese?
Avatar 4:01am
Jay/London:

stan does not seem to do playlists :(
Avatar 4:02am
mauri:

Scraps, Im in Kouvola. waiting for the restaurant to open and studying swedish. Stans playlist will be here later.
  4:02am
Donnie:

Mary Wing posts them at a later date...
  4:03am
890:

Where's the playlist?!
  4:04am
Donnie:

the groove and this guitar are mind blowing!
Avatar 4:05am
Jay/London:

looks like in about a week or so it will be up 890
Avatar 4:06am
Scraps:

Easier for speakers of Finnish to learn Hungarian than Swedish, I’m told. Probably not as practical, though.
  4:06am
890:

I can't wait!
  4:08am
Donnie:

Stan usually back announces, so we'll have to wait to see who this is by. It'll be interesting to see if this is Japanese psych or not, and when it's from (old or new). I actually love listening to Stan's show without playlists, because it's like old school radio listening days.
Avatar 4:11am
Scraps:

According to Wikipedia, Kouvola’s motto is “A surprisingly fine town”! That’s kind of great. A little boast, but modest.
  4:11am
Matias:

Good morning, Stan & all. A foggy day in Helsinki too. Nick Name's and Stan's "morning shows" playing, as on every Friday.
Avatar 4:13am
Scraps:

I think of Nick Name’s and Stan’s shows as on Thursday. ;-)
Avatar 4:14am
mauri:

Maybe not Hungarian. Estonian is nearer. It'd be easier for us to learn Swedish with English.
Scraps they call this town betonihelvetti=concretehell.
  4:17am
Donnie:

Acid Mother's Temple!! YES
Avatar 4:17am
Scraps:

Right, Estonian (I’m told) is also nearer to Finnish, language-wise. And (back a step or three) Mongol.
Avatar 4:18am
Scraps:

Very good, Donnie
  4:19am
Donnie:

haha
Avatar 4:25am

Concrete Hell — that’s a pretty good description of a type of American urban architecture from the sixties, especially college buildings. Forbidding.
  4:34am
David in London:

Damn, late in today. Sounding good.
  4:50am
icy in Bklyn now in LA:

F yeh
  4:50am
Matias:

Pangaea, maybe? I haven't heard this in a long time.
  4:51am
icy in Bklyn now in LA:

What
Is
This
?
  4:51am
David in London:

Opening track on Agartha I think.
  4:53am
Matias:

Ah, yes. I judged just by the echoey live sound and the very same sound is present on the Agharta.
Avatar 4:53am

Love all of the early seventies Miles
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54am
Hugo (NL):

So...www.flickr.com... will win the mascotte contest, I guess? :-D
  4:55am
David in London:

Yes, ditto all that. He was chasing a seriously wild train at that stage of his (musical) life.
  4:56am
icy in Bklyn now in LA:

Many thanks
Avatar 5:02am
Scraps:

Damn, Hugo, I think you’re right.
Avatar 5:03am

Though the red-footed tortoise is mighty fine, too
  5:03am
icy in Bklyn now in LA:

Agreed!
So 1976 or so Miles..
  5:11am
David in London:

After the day this was recorded, he packed up his kit, went back to the States, and stayed at home for the next five years taking masses amounts of drugs and going not to quietly insane. Miles was never really one to do things by halves.
  5:20am
Donnie:

How did he survive financially? Royalties?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am
Stanley:

Man, there's a lot of chat this morming.
Hi Stan, friends.
  5:29am
Donnie:

Hi Stanley. To clarify my previous question, I meant during those years he was on hiatus due to drugs. Reading on Wikipedia about him now...never really knew that much about what Miles Davis was doing after early '70s. Interesting...
  5:45am
Peter from Dover NJ:

Hi everyone. Stan one of the reasons I like your show is that it's so different from week to week.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47am
Sem:

Good morning, Stan!
  6:00am
Donnie:

Thanks Stan!
