	♥ 3:38pm tim from champaign: Lungfish is the best! I caught Fugazi 3 times. August 1991 in Kalamazoo MI with Nation of Ulysses and Trenchmouth, summer 1993 in Green Bay WI with Unrest and summer 1994 in Plymouth MI with Laughing Hyenas and Slant 6.

	♥ 3:43pm TDK60: Saw M.D.C. a few times in the '80s -wild. Played with C.O.C. a few times. Saw the DKs 1x, Black Flag a few times. Never saw Husker Du, oh well.
	♥ 3:48pm crateslinger: That's pretty impressive TDK60. I crashed with MDC in SF for a weekend, and hung out with COC a couple times in NYC, but never saw DK's, BF, or HD.

	♥ 3:52pm Stevel: Saw Husker Du a bunch in Madison, often with the Replacements, '82-'84. Only caught DKs and BF once, both in Denver one summer, soon after Rollins joined BF ('83?)

	♥ 3:53pm TDK60: Saw lots of less-known H/C bands too. Raw Power from Italy, Stretchmarks from Canada, Rhythm Pigs from El Paso, The Offenders from Austin, Adrenalin O.D. from NJ, etc., etc....

	♥ 3:58pm Stevel: Howard F: Re. BF, I was impressed to be there. It was an afternoon all-ages show. Sparsely attended and very raw. I'd heard a few cuts, prior which were vaguely terrifying in all the best ways. Rollins had long hair and was warming up by running up the walls (taking three steps) like any good skateboarder. DKs was super special, as the show was shut down early by the fire marshal. I stood on a radiator to shoot photos which were not very good, but hey.
	♥ 3:59pm Stevel: Husker Du were more familiar, as were the Replacements. I tried not to miss any of their shows.
	♥ 3:59pm TDK60: ultradamno: So, the Finns and Italians weren't groovin' together. I saw Riistetyt too. We were disappointed as they'd left behind their hyper-speed-thrash for a more new wave sound.
	4:00pm Howard F: Stevel: DK's stand out to me as a great band. I believe they were a bit older and more proficient. Fresh Fruit is still a keeper for me.
	♥ 4:02pm TDK60: Howard & Stevel: The Dead Kennedys were great. A lot to say, and a bit older, they preceded the H/C thing by a few years I think.
	♥ 4:02pm Stevel: Howard F. I'd agree, although the Huskers did nothing but grow stronger. When I saw them, they were the best example of HC meets Psych/shifting melodic textures. Intense but melodic.
	♥ 4:03pm ultradamno: Riistetyt stayed at my friend's house in Muncie and left behind a pair of pants that stand on their own like a sculpture. They and Raw Power were on a MRR sponsored package tour. While Raw Power played they snapped at RP and heckled. Yay Sauna Youth!

	♥ 4:23pm ultradamno: The Jockey should have been declared a national landmark. There was a sideroom I got to peruse a couple of times full of stuff from it's casino days like a table with little horses sticking out of slots for people to bet on...
	♥ 4:25pm TDK60: ...forgot to mention more great Canadian H/C bands from the '80s: D.O.A., NoMeansNo, and S.N.F.U.
	♥ 4:26pm crateslinger: Yeah I went back there too - lots of mysteries. Remember Shorty with the cigar ash all over his shirt? There used to be a Jockey Club memorial website. Maybe it's still up. I'm not on it because I was just passing through, but you should check it out. Might see some familiar faces, if it still exists.

Shorty served us Foster's and we watched Coal Miner's Daughter on TV and pledged to tell everyone we saw a hot new band called CMD.

	♥ 4:35pm crateslinger: I know Manwich and the girl you're talking about stayed with me and my girlfriend in my squat 25 years ago before she went to Ireland and married that guy, but I think she's back. She was my best friend's girlfriend, but everybody was in love with her.

	♥ 3:43pm TDK60: Saw M.D.C. a few times in the '80s -wild. Played with C.O.C. a few times. Saw the DKs 1x, Black Flag a few times. Never saw Husker Du, oh well.
	♥ 3:48pm crateslinger: That's pretty impressive TDK60. I crashed with MDC in SF for a weekend, and hung out with COC a couple times in NYC, but never saw DK's, BF, or HD.

I'd heard a few cuts, prior which were vaguely terrifying in all the best ways. Rollins had long hair and was warming up by running up the walls (taking three steps) like any good skateboarder. DKs was super special, as the show was shut down early by the fire marshal. I stood on a radiator to shoot photos which were not very good, but hey.

	♥ 3:59pm TDK60: ultradamno: So, the Finns and Italians weren't groovin' together. I saw Riistetyt too. We were disappointed as they'd left behind their hyper-speed-thrash for a more new wave sound.
	4:00pm Howard F: Stevel: DK's stand out to me as a great band. I believe they were a bit older and more proficient. Fresh Fruit is still a keeper for me.
	♥ 4:02pm TDK60: Howard & Stevel: The Dead Kennedys were great. A lot to say, and a bit older, they preceded the H/C thing by a few years I think.
	♥ 4:02pm Stevel: Howard F. I'd agree, although the Huskers did nothing but grow stronger. When I saw them, they were the best example of HC meets Psych/shifting melodic textures. Intense but melodic.
	♥ 4:03pm ultradamno: Riistetyt stayed at my friend's house in Muncie and left behind a pair of pants that stand on their own like a sculpture. They and Raw Power were on a MRR sponsored package tour. While Raw Power played they snapped at RP and heckled. Yay Sauna Youth!

I'm not on it because I was just passing through, but you should check it out. Might see some familiar faces, if it still exists.

Shorty served us Foster's and we watched Coal Miner's Daughter on TV and pledged to tell everyone we saw a hot new band called CMD.
