Worst bands of all time: U2, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd, Creed, Hootie and The Blowfish... I’m sure I’m missing others, but those are just off the top of my head. Great show as always!

BEAVO:

U2 are one of the greatest bands of all time,You compare them to Nickelback and those other loser bands? Please, just because you don’t like U2 doesn’t mean they aren’t one of the greatest bands of all time. The numbers speak for themselves I’m sure you hate the Bee Gees tooI But the numbers speak for themselves.

jon:

well I'm about a month late to this whole U2 deal, but I may as well chime in anyway. worst band of all time? i heartily disagree. Granted they are downright abysmal and embarrassing nowadays and for sure, highly overrated during the peak of their fame.

that said, their early records sat in nicely with the rest of that whole brit pack of new waver and post punkers. and on the right night they were as transcendent as the best of them. only saw them thrice - first on the war tour at the seattle paramount - couple thousand seater. what incredible energy that night. Next were in the mcnichols arena during my college years in Denver backing their first two Eno-helmed LPs (which were good overall, though not quite as good as before). two shows which alongside springsteen and the dead and jgb and tom petty and the stones never-ending retirement tour some of the best larger sized shows i'd seen. bono had a such a powerful voice at the time and the band had such energy.

by the end of the 80s they were a full on stadium act going in a very different musical direction than i cared for and had drifted far away from why i had liked them in the first place!! but for those fleeting few years, they certainly did the trick for me... i blame bono for running them down the drain
