yea I guess there are no rules against sexism then ... they sound like old guys .... a lot of ppl on WFMU sound like old man, the Wake and Bake guy sounds very old man-like too
Avatar 12:53am

Clay is aight in my book, Andy Breckman is sort of a fossil, but some of it is schtick. I've never heard Ken be offensive, unless sarcasm was invoked, but he does like to press buttons.
Avatar 12:55am
wolfg:

well, what it was he was bragging about being a possible target of metoo ... .it was uhm supposed to be sarcastic and funny but it wasn't .. at least not the latter
Avatar 1:03am
wolfg:

and then they keep on lamenting that women don't participate in their show .... I'm not prude or overly sensitive, but it is a bit weird I must say
Avatar 1:08am
wolfg:

well I'm willing to end the topic

Sup NGH, coel, $mall ¢hange, and all. I typically loathe reggae but about 50% so far in this set has been rather interesting. Apres axper jan!
  2:41am
$mall ¢hange:

haha 50% from a reggae hater I'll take! when you come around there's a lot of classics here!
  2:41am
$mall ¢hange:

I mean if you're gonna front on White Mice we're gonna have beef haha. the best
Avatar 2:46am
Diezel Tea:

Dub I can consume in droves. But everyone has their tastes. At least on FMU I know the DJ if they're playing reggae are blasting only choice cuts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48am
coelacanth∅:

hey D Tea
- yeah my jam is mostly the rocksteady, and smoldery 70s reggae (i'm really not so sure about labels!) but so much so an employee complained to the store owner about my playing too much reggae on the system at the store i managed! (in the 90s)
Avatar 2:49am
slugluv1313:

oooooo Night Nurse <3
  2:49am
$mall ¢hange:

hilarious on your employee complaining...anyways dancehall is a huge world. so many good records
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49am
coelacanth∅:

...but i'm digging every bit of this
- and yes to good dub for sure
Avatar 2:50am
Diezel Tea:

oh coel, you rebel))
Avatar 2:51am
slugluv1313:

@ coelacanthø -- "smoldery" = perfect description of those grooves!
and same here -- dub hits all the right spots too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51am
coelacanth∅:

well a lot of the customers liked it anyway.
  2:51am
$mall ¢hange:

always room for dub!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52am
coelacanth∅:

ha -thanks slugluv!
Avatar 2:53am
Diezel Tea:

Dub takes up the whole room, as it should.
Avatar 2:54am
Diezel Tea:

I'm still confused as to why in the hood on the west coast glass pieces are acceptable but in the hood on the east coast it's frowned upon. At least when I used to live there back in the day.
  2:55am
BEAVO:

I like the version on Sandinista with a little girl singing guns of Brixton
Avatar 2:56am
slugluv1313:

DT glass pieces as in pipes? and if so who's business is it what you like to smoke from?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:59am
coelacanth∅:

oh man.
okay Thanks $¢ i'll check out the archive.
night y'all
Avatar 2:59am
Diezel Tea:

Oh, haha, just in the hood on the east coast when I lived there, only blunts or bones, no bongs or pipes. It was seen as "incorrect" as a method of consumption.
Avatar 3:00am
Diezel Tea:

Peace y'all!
