By the way, Gary, during last week's show of middle eastern music, I mentioned the cast album for The Band's Visit and you asked what it was. I didn't return to the playlist in time to answer, but I'll tell you now that it's a Broadway musical about an Egyptian traditional eight-or-so-piece band lost in a settlement town in the middle of the Negev desert. I really liked it and I'd say it's well worth checking out.

@sentaanrudra: I once was finished djing an Indian/Latin night and got picked up by a cab. The cabbie was playing classical Indian music, and I asked him what it was, and it was his band in Queens. So, we talked about Indian Classical music and showed him my vinyl. When he dropped me off, he gave me his band's cassette. Still have it.
