"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

sure Neil. That tension has been building here for years. I think Conklin one day may inadvertently breach the arrangement.

Thank you JA for playing this Forsyth now, when it is most needed.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 9:58am

I saw Chris Forsyth a few days after the 2016 election. He played solo, his soundtrack to Cocksucker Blues, with the film showing (mostly) silently. That, too, was timely.
  10:01am
Tom from Maplewood:

@JohnAllen 99% of day laborers are Latino/a. They are very appreciative of the work they get. Day or night. But doubtful they know who or what an Allman Bros. is. ;)
  10:02am
JakeGould:

@TomfromMaplewood: Why do these “day laborers” care about what is playing on WFMU?

Yet those who labor, or feed, by night are prone to turn on FMU (or an Allman).

the Allman Brothers are ok but i just can't stand Duane Allman's slide. he never could move below the 237th fret.

Good morning. The name of this show always reminds me of one I used to hear on the way to work called JM in the AM. I think it was Jewish music. I loved it.

Yeah, but I still don’t understand the day laborers part of things.
Avatar 10:39am

oh lol this is good too. Thanks John Allen

@S_Rah: “JA in the AM” stands for “Judicial Anger in the American Media.”

I think The Knack were terribly underrated (My Sharona).....although they DID have a hit. Also The Vapors (I Think I'm Turning Japanese).
Avatar 10:54am
Wild Neil||Peace All:

@John A. -I can kinda see why so many dislike the Blues Travelers. Still, if WFMU can play The Knack...why not BT?
Avatar 10:59am

If the DJs don't want to play BT, I'm totally down with that. But I won't lose sleep if someone pops a track in at some point.

@Jake Gould-nope. I dated a girl I worked with (big mistake!) and a friend of a friend's friend and an artist I met at Organism artists' rave at the Dutch Mustard Factory in Williamsburg in 1994. Also a couple girls from Cooper Union from when I went there in the early 90's. However, I did MEET the Spin Doctors a couple of times since they were the BT's room mates. That's all I remember. Maybe there were others. Not sure. It was AWHILE AGO. Heh.
