Yeah I don't need to hear much more. As a biologist, I do believe there are factors in youthful blood that could be beneficial to some older people however the risks (as depicted in the Silicon Valley episode described) out way the potential benefits for most healthy older recipients. I would suggest they identify, isolate and purify the beneficial factors instead.

Seems like an idea so obvious, why'd it take this long to be tried? Start with unfractionated plasma, see which conditions are affected, then start fractionating to find which fractions are effective for what. In the meantime you're getting a cash flow established and interest to help the work along.

Kim, I work with blood product that are tested the same and we use "universal precautions", meaning we assume any blood product is contaminated no matter the prior testing. tests have false negatives all the time.

But also think about this: If most of the people being targeted by this are old, the scam is just in that. The reality is a person in their 60s feeling “happy” about this just speaks to a placebo effect and the fact that if/when these people die, who is the ultimately beneficiary?

I achieved the 5-gallon donation level and was informed that I had some hepatitis detected (about 20 years ago). So no more donating from me. Must have been a false positive since I don't have hepatitis symptoms.
