That store was on Court Street in Carroll Gardens, a phone card store, but when you went into the back ...

Court Street in Carroll Gardens? I know that area! Is it going more towards Smith/9th or more towards downtown?
Avatar 🇰🇷 Swag For Life Member 7:12pm

So happy I'm not driving out of downtown this time,( like the last couple of weeks or so)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm

More towards downtown, but the store is long gone ... most of the places I used to visit are either gone or no longer sell media ... just a few left these days

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm

It was pretty small -- a very long, thin store. What you see there in the photo is most of the stock, although there was another case and wall at an L to my left
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm

Two doors down from that store was Rashid Music! Which is also long gone

i don't know them well Gary. i recorded a song off the radio (wfmu) in the 80s "perfidny waltz" (i think) and love it. always wanted to hear more from them.
i did once, i think! and wasn't that impressed -but it may not have been the same band.

Usually when I'm in the city, I like A-1 Records, but I do miss Birdman and the like.

Bought lots of cool Brazilian albums at A-1, and some African, too!
