@DC - It's pretty quiet up here these days. Waiting for warm weather to arrive and watch the dandelions start popping up. The snow is about melted.

@Santos: The idea has been tossed at me the last couple years, I think with my skill set, the best I can do for the station is prepare a great show every week :)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07am

I have a whole list of stuff I might do if I were enlisted to sing live karaoke, but the main one would be "Dancing With Myself". No shit.

"Eyes" best Dead song ever imo. Don't think there's a bad version of it.
Avatar 1:10am

When I do karaoke my go-to's are I'm No Angel by Gregg Allman, Pina Colada song, and if I'm wasted This Woman's Work by Kate Bush/Maxwell, even though I can only hit like 1.3 of the like 5 octaves in that song, ha ha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13am

@gregorianpants -- that's what bothers me about Pandora -- they agree with you.

I was walking past my local karaoke bar after getting off work, and two guys were singing the pina colada song off key of each other -- OMG, it was so awful...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32am

I have certain reservations regarding Dick Dale, hope they are not true. He was acquitted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37am
pacific standard simon:

Oh, and he was NOT the composer of "Miselou", as the headline states.
Avatar 2:37am
Jeff Conklin:

Don't know anything about him other than I never willingly listened to his music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50am
pacific standard simon:

Dick Dale's recording of "Miserlou", a traditional Armenian tune, became an instant surf-rock hit, and was recorded by pretty much everybody else. Great stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54am
pacific standard simon:

He was featured in the surf-rock movies of the '60s.
Avatar 2:57am
