Hi Mr. Fab!
Hi Jan!
Hello, Joe! Whattaya know?

Woof that's a loaded question.

Hi Joe, Hi Rich, Hi John-Bob

Mr Fab:

This Shatner stuff is the Sheena's equivalent of "classic rock." It's our "Stairway to Heaven" or "Bohemian Rhapsody." Only I'm still not tired of it!
Avatar 2:03pm

Welcome, one and all!

This was one of the first things I remember downloading off of Napster.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:04pm
Rich in Washington:

Almost all the stuff I first started seeking out on the web was firmly in the kooks/outsider/golden throats category for some reason.
Avatar 2:06pm
worldsworstrecords:

that's where I spend most of my life Rich!
Avatar 2:06pm
Mr Fab:

Probably cuz that's stuff you would have been embarrassed to buy. You're supposed to spend your money on, y'know, "real" music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I first heard it on Instituut Schreuders, a 10 minutes item by artist Piet Schreuders on friday morning on Dutch public radio, when that was still worth listening...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm
joe:

Anybody have any idea who does the session work on the track? I have to believe considering the time period and area it has to be some interesting folks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08pm

I have still have 2 500 GB harddives that I have not been able to access but won't give up on and primarily filled with stuff from before the file locker crack down.
Avatar 2:09pm
worldsworstrecords:

No idea Joe... I'll dig out my CD version and see if there are any notes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm
Rich in Washington:

A lot of my web collecting habits had to do with being unable to find stuff like that in stores, really a dearth of good stores near where I lived at the time, etc. And I honestly never bought music online until well into the 2000s.
Avatar 2:14pm
Mr Fab:

I don't see musician credits on the liners, but it says it was recorded at Gold Star Studios in Hollywood, where Phil Spector and the Beach Boys recorded, so it could very well be the Wrecking Crew.
Avatar 2:15pm
worldsworstrecords:

I was just about to say the same thing, Mr F. He credits the producer and engineers, but that's it
Avatar 2:16pm
worldsworstrecords:

Don Ralke, producer; Stan Ross, engineer
Avatar 2:19pm
Mr Fab:

maybe the musicians begged to not be listed on the cover!

There's something about how they shoehorn really awkward lyrics into otherwise pleasant sounding, serviceable arrangements that tip one off that it's a song poem.

Cara might be literally singing "AFPFL"
