Hiya Don!

Dang. The show transition just snuck up on me.

Hi Don-O!

Jan Turkenburg:

Yep Rich, I couldn't tell either.
Avatar 6:02pm
Don-O:

A big HI to everyone. I was waiting there to hear if the show would go on time.
  6:03pm
Martinibomb:

I've never been able to get my wife into Stereolab. Punk friends used to give me a hard time about liking Stereolab -- "That's girls music" they'd say hah
Avatar 6:03pm
Otis Fodder:

Hello all in the Lab.
Avatar 6:04pm
Don-O:

Well, it's all that "pop" vibe after the second or third album.
Avatar 6:05pm
Don-O:

Warning: this is a semi-Lab show so I can't make any promises.
Avatar 6:05pm
grantbob:

@Otis so was the MoAM? track part of FP or HoC?
Avatar 6:07pm
Otis Fodder:

@grantbob Art of Noise and Duck Rock excerpt was the end of my show. I think next week we are going to start to try to align all shows where we know the first/last cut we play and make shows match up. That should be fun to try.
Avatar 6:07pm
Don-O:

G. Bob: you're now entering into the world of HoC Crapland.! The John Waters track should give you a good hint.
Avatar 6:08pm
grantbob:

I just didn't see MoAM? at the end of the FP playlist... Is that on the same track as duck rock? I'm confused.
Avatar 6:10pm
Otis Fodder:

Sorry, what is MoAM?
Avatar 6:10pm
grantbob:

Man Or Astro-Man?
Avatar 6:10pm
Otis Fodder:

Oh, was not on my playlist, must have been when Don-O cut in.
Avatar 6:12pm
grantbob:

I went to answer the door... came back and saw the Duck Rock in the playlist but MoAM? was playing. Confused... but happy.
Avatar 6:12pm
Don-O:

Hmmm, I'm afraid that there's no MoAM in this playlist. It must have been the transition BGM between our shows. Mr. Fab might hell you with that track,
Avatar 6:13pm
Otis Fodder:

Ah, that's it! The stream kicks in usually for a tiny bit in-between shows and the playlist would not change. Mystery solved. :)
Avatar 6:13pm
Otis Fodder:

Helloooo, John Waters. I am not the Otis you speak of. ;)
Avatar 6:14pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah, Sheena throws tracks in between shows..dont know why.
Avatar 6:14pm
Otis Fodder:

Sheena knows. She watches over all.
Avatar 6:15pm
Don-O:

Sheena can be sneaky with a molotov cocktail with one hand.
Avatar 6:16pm
grantbob:

Reduces risk of dead air I suppose. Good to know.
Avatar 6:16pm
Mr Fab:

"Carsick" is a wonderful read. And some nice person put together a playlist of all the songs Waters was playing whilst on the road.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm
Rich in Washington:

I haven't read it yet, but I would probably leave really long skidmarks if I ever saw him on the side of the road with his thumb out.
Avatar 6:19pm
Don-O:

BTW, it's Ants not Arts. Old Pro, me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm
Rich in Washington:

grantbob: read your comment during Otis' show regarding listening to Sheena's on devices. I think someone with station cred has to request it to be added to TuneIn. You can, however, listen on both the WFMU app and the unofficial WFMU app, both of which can be found on the Google Play store or the Apple App store (although I am not 100% sure about the latter, as I am an Android user).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Jan Turkenburg:

here's sneaking out (after a clicky star for 'turn on') to dreamland. See you all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Rich in Washington:

Clicky dreams, Jan!
Avatar 6:21pm
Don-O:

"unofficial"?! Seems a bit unfair for a free-form non-profit radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm
Jan Turkenburg:

:-)
Avatar 6:22pm
Don-O:

Snore beautifully there, Jan!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm
Jan Turkenburg:

shall I record it for a next show? ;)
Avatar 6:23pm
Mr Fab:

Everything about this station is unofficial, thays why i love it!
Avatar 6:26pm
Mr Fab:

I bought that "Red Hot and Rio" album back in the day. Stereolab's song you played with Herbie Mann was def one of the highlights.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm
Rich in Washington:

Someone made an unofficial WFMU app to address some of the shortcomings of the original, officially sanctioned app. It does a few things the other won't but is pretty buggy. I have both on my phone. Neither let you log in to chat, so one must continually enter your user name, etc. Other than that, they work.
Avatar 6:28pm
Otis Fodder:

Great Scott Tune!
Avatar 6:29pm
Don-O:

....and listen how I mispronounce it!!
Avatar 6:30pm
grantbob:

@Rich Yeah I was hoping for TuneIn as if it's on there the Amazon spy device will play it... I just walk around with my ipad if I need to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
Rich in Washington:

I never got this album. I have the Manhattan ones, but not this.
Avatar 6:32pm
Don-O:

I got a new cell phone that's is an upgrade from last year and I got the FMU app. I sense I will be using it in the close future!!
Avatar 6:32pm
grantbob:

Maybe Eckart Rahn Pachinko In Your Head next... there goes the hour.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm
Rich in Washington:

That's the way I listen to most streaming stations. yeah. A user used to be able to request specific stations be added, but now you must have the credentials of the given station. Maybe they were inundated with people adding their own private streams.
Avatar 6:33pm
Don-O:

Fab: ohexoh.bandcamp.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm
Rich in Washington:

I like the app. It lets me listen in my car and while bopping around work or home with my headphones on. Commenting's nearly impossible, so there's that.
Avatar 6:35pm
grantbob:

Why would anyone want to comment while listening to a radio station??? That's crazy.
Avatar 6:36pm
Mr Fab:

I just go on the internet, to WFMU, click Play as always. What are these "apps" the kids are talking about?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm
Rich in Washington:

I just like the TuneIn app because I can listen to streams on my TV or on my convoluted audio system, like when I'm sleeping, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm
Rich in Washington:

I need more Stereolab in my life. I just sort of lost track of them after their first couple of albums, but I've always liked them a lot.
Avatar 6:42pm
Don-O:

As I said, they are re-issue their catalog, so now would be a good chance to catch up.
  6:53pm
Martinibomb:

thanks for the stereolab mix today!
Avatar 6:55pm
Otis Fodder:

Thanks Don, see ya!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm

Thanks, Don-O!
