Dr. Art Taylor!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:57am Doug Schulkind:

I think the number of people who jump into the comments is just a fraction of the overall audience. The reality is that most people are at work or otherwise engaged. And that is, of course, lovely. After all, radio is a soundtrack to our lives, not requiring 100% of our attention (like television). I just don't ever want anyone to feel left out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am Doug Schulkind:

Hello, Jeff G!

Was Art Taylor a Dr? I know the bass player Art Davis was known as Dr. Art Davis. Maybe all Arts are honorarily bestowed?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am Franco Twinkie:

As Mr. T might say: Keep up the jibber jabber.

  11:10am Dean:

"[R]adio is a soundtrack to our lives, not requiring 100% of our attention (like television)." By this do you mean television, like radio, does not require all of our attention (I hope so), or that unlike radio, television does require all of it? If the latter, I can't disagree more strongly. Television is at best a pleasant distraction. Radio--primarily music radio, but other kinds, too--can be a mere soundtrack, but it can also be a valuable source of information, pleasure, enthusiasm...all the good stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Franco Twinkie:

Dean, you nailed it bro!
  11:12am Jeff g.:

I'll sign on to whatever you're saying. I just meant to say that TV requires that you disengage in part from your own existence. Radio supplements and enriches your own existence. Sumpin' like dat.

Guaranteed to make you laugh, cry and in-between, it's HINKY DINKY TIME, hosted by everyone's beloved Uncle Michael (laughing on the outside but crying on the inside).

Great show, Doug.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am Doug Schulkind:

@Uncle Michael
See, I just listen to baseball on the radio. It is the perfect medium for the perfect sport.
  11:49am Dean:

I could bear isolation with just Tallis and Byrd, for sure. Davitt Moroney's complete Byrd keyboard works is essential.

Some Screaming Jay Hawkins sounding horn section snortling away on this one!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:50am Uncle Michael:

I look a good radio call...but not s much as I like watching players play the game.

Dean, hope to go to some organ recitals in the same church during the summer.

Ernie Harwell on the radion. TV with the sound off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:52am Doug Schulkind:

I watch them in my mind, Uncle Michael.

It is difficult to describe Lionel Messi's skills, seeing is believing.

This Berna Dean number was written by Dave Bartholomew.

If you described what Marcell Ozuna is doing in today's Hinky Dinky Time gif, people wouldn't believe you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Doug Schulkind:

@Brian in UK
I quite agree there. He defies description.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:55am Uncle Michael:

K-Doe sounds really young.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Dominick:

@βrian: I discovered tabasco when I was 6, and was hooked. When I was 12 in Thailand, I discovered Thai chilies, and it was all over by then. (my mother thinks black pepper is too spicy).

@Uncle Michael
A good announcer (none of whom exist in Pittsburgh) could have described that artfully in real time.
  11:57am Dr. Listener Gregory:

This is revealing a new side of Ernie K-Doe to me.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:57am Uncle Michael:

But would people have believed her?
Avatar 11:57am northguineahills:

Brian in UK: Like a good wine (or single malt), he gets better w/ age....

Thanks Doug, choodaloo!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:58am Uncle Michael:

Thanks, Doug. See you all in the next room.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:59am Brian in UK:

@ngh he got a bluddy nose on Wednesday.

A good announcer knows when to leave space, silence if you will.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am Doug Schulkind:

@Dr Listener Gregory
My work is done here.

Thank you all so so much. It was a thrill, as always!
