Hi. Bit of a show on the mellow side today, I think. Rainy here in Montreal, overcast. The show's title does not reflect my mood, sunny here. It's from a Steve Kuhn song that I will play today. Thanks for listening. Happy weekend!

It's been weird here in the UK. South Coast anyway. We've had sun, heat, rain, cold, torrential downpour, sea mist, wind. I'd quite like it if the universe picked a season and stuck with it for a bit.

John Foxx - Great vox - His early solo stuff and Ultravox too, oh yes.

Let's see ... roasted cubed butternut squash and sweet potato in oil and smoked salt for about 35 minutes. Then cooked a chopped large onion in olive oil until it was soft, added cinnamon, chili, smoked paprika, and cumin until it got fragrant. Black beans (cooked and drained), passata, tomato puree, the roasted veg, some veg stock, lime juice, some more smoked salt to taste. About 30 minutes on the stove. :-)

Don-O .. I'm guessing you caught that Corpusse track earlier ??
(you should play it loudly in the background, while he or she works !)

I'm cutting down on personal rants on this board. Let's just say I watched a small Monty Python marathon to calm down last night.

Is this Corpusse the artist or title? I'm guessing I didn't get the chance to hear it.

Corpusse is the artist. Hot Water Pipe, the masterpiece.

Don-O: Monty Python's my go-to when I have insomnia. Something about it short-circuits my logical brain and lets me drift off to sleep.

I'll listen to the show later, or I'll check the 'net on this one.

I have all the monty python scripts. It's really interesting reading their stuff and seeing how it's put together

I have a attachment for the episode 'Owl Stretching Time' as it is my first Python show I 'captured' on my old battered Sears boom-box tape recorder.

Rich IW, howdy! The"Hard Talk" segment on BBC News is just like Python.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm

Oh man. I'm glad I'm not the only one who'd record Monty Python on audio tape. Press the Panasonic recorder right up to the TV's speaker.

Hi geezerette! How's things?

finally got all the materials to complete my studio room speaker rewire project. I will finally be able to separate my mixer's monitor buss from the speaker system that I just listen to music and TV with. Big move, but untangling the Rube Goldberg setup I have.

I wonder which Python episode has the most of Carol Cleveland in it?

This is hilarious! About as threatening as those ballet-dancing gang-bangers in West Side Story
Avatar 5:25pm
Otis Fodder:

...and the film is even less threatening. So good.

Exactly!

Cross and the Switchblade was written by David Wilkerson, who put out a crazy rapture record - sort of like a Xtian production of Mercury Theatre's War of the Worlds.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm
Rich in Washington:

It says it's the soundtrack to a film, but I can find no evidence of the film being released, just the record - The Rapture.
Avatar 5:27pm
Otis Fodder:

@Rich - The album comes with a lyric sheet and form to purchase scripts for your local school play/production. Years ago I wanted to stage this with friends (along with the other Carmichael album, Natural High).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm
Rich in Washington:

Ralph Carmichael also release - to my knowledge - the only gospel Moog album. Am I wrong? I sort of hope I am.

It's a film, rented it a good decade+ back.

It's odd to name such a violent fantasy "Rapture".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm
Rich in Washington:

The Rapture? Really?
Avatar 5:30pm
Otis Fodder:

Ralph's 'The Electic Symphony' is the only 100% moog religious album I have seen... close second might be Caldera's Moog Mass.
Avatar 5:33pm
Otis Fodder:

Rich - Oh now I see you were talking about Rapture the film (don't know anything about that one), I thought it was referring to Cross and Switchblade. Will check out Rapture.
Avatar 5:34pm
Mr Fab:

Gershon Kingley's "God is a Moog". But that' coming from a Jewish background.
Avatar 5:35pm
Otis Fodder:

That's right, Gershon did recordings. Need to check those out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm
Rich in Washington:

That's cool, Mr. Fab and Otis! I hadn't heard of either of those albums! Just goes to show how deep the Moog rabbit hole goes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm
Rich in Washington:

The Rapture LP I have does indeed have what looks like stills from a film production on it, and mention of the movie, but I can't find any evidence of it actually coming out. Maybe it just never got released?

There exists also a really goofy early production in the stupid Left Behind series - this one being a fake news show reporting on people vanishing. I remember a fundy relative foisted it on my parents and I grabbed it. It was horrible. Inexplicably, it was briefly streamed on Netflix, early on but was quickly 'raptured' away.

...oh, and the rest of the 70's soundtrack set is pretty cool!

He did indeed, Don-O. More than exotica.i recently picked up a CD comp of various soundtrack themes. You know he did the incidental music to the Frankie n Annette beach party movies?
